Final peice

The finished product

Evaluation

I feel that the overall presentation works well, however the magazine has no authentic qualities. To have made this better i could have done more research and tried to grasp photoshop a lot better.
To get to this final stage i had worked form weeks gathering information and doing surveys to try and get in the mind of the audience. I created a magazine profile (which hopefuly my magazine pages appeal to). I looked at many magazines to see the set up and help me emulate the structure.
The picture i chose was well thought out to get the colour and camera angles and mood right. I chose a purple jumper to contrast the Blondy-reddy colour of Sians hair and her eyes. It stands out and draws the reader in being quite a bold neutralised colour. I proceeded using mustard a purple to keep up the continuation like i had studied in prominent magazines. I experimented with the concept of low lighting and contrasts to see how it effected the mood and decided on a lighter quite contrasted effects to give the magazine a lighter and more open vibe. This was my most effective result of photoshop and i feel like this project helped me understand the concept of photoshop a bit better.

The text i felt worked well as it was not to harsh and was clear. It did not mimic male or female stereotypes particularly. However although this two elements were not particularly a failure, together it doesn't seem to work.

My contents sheet i feel was not particularly exciting, however it informed the reader of the articles and provided a good indication of the 'contents'. It focused on the colours and adressed a teenage audience as best it could.

Finaly, I feel that all my hard work was not evident in my final peice and i feel that it was slightly dissapointing. However i shall take it as a learning experience and for the forthcoming 'music magazine' i will use my mistakes to put towards an effective magazine.

Front cover text

Text

  • Keeping to a black and white colour scheme keeping it neutral and providing clarity to the magazine.

  • I have decided on the title SQUEEZE. This onomatopoeia word does not attract just one gender.

  • It is simple and easy to enunciate.

  • Squeeze can link to juice (like an orange) producing a tasty yet nourishing juice.

  • I have chosen black and yellow font colour to isolate the tittle and make it stand out.

Photos

I took some photos for a front cover and they came out as follows:

Here's one i decided to fiddle with editing the contrast, colour, brightness, smart blur.

I also experimented with the writing font.
It needs to be fun yet and the right colour. Im thinking that the jumper and font should match or mayb just the headings.
-My magazine cover will have banners with eye catching words and phrases on them to draw the audiences attention.
-They will be purple to corresponde with the jumper.
-I will have a black tittle with white sub headings.
- the overall look im going for is a feeling of freedom and joy. With the smiling model and vast white backgrounds.

Front Cover

Plan

- Light haired girl
- Slight tilt of camera to give a friendly/ yet entreaging view without making the person seem over bearing.
-Not tones of make up to give the wrong impression.

-Needs neutral colours

-White background
-Pretty female, inviting face (girl because young girls will look up to her and boys will think shes attractive)

-Lots of snappy phrases and headings

-Girl wearing white with something to bright to link to text
